Woman consulting with a therapist in a cozy room.

Trauma & PTSD Therapy

Healing from trauma and PTSD can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to face it alone. I provide anxiety support through evidence-based therapies like EMDR therapy, somatic therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help you process and move beyond painful experiences. Whether your trauma is recent or from long ago, we collaborate to build safety, understanding, and strength.

Who it’s for: Adults experiencing PTSD and complex PTSD (cPTSD) symptoms, as well as trauma from past events or persistent current distress.

Anxiety & Burnout Support

If stress, anxiety, or burnout feel like constant companions, therapy can provide real relief. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help you develop practical tools for anxiety support, managing stress, setting boundaries, creating self-empowerment, self-advocacy, and restoring balance in your life. Who it’s for: Professionals, caregivers, or anyone feeling drained, overwhelmed, or stuck.

Superhero Therapy

This is a special, creative therapy method I developed that combines pop culture elements like superheroes, comics, and stories with healing work. By utilizing the rich symbolism and narratives from your favorite stories, we can explore trauma, build resilience, and reclaim your own power. This approach serves as a unique form of anxiety support, integrating elements of Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR therapy for a more imaginative and meaningful healing experience.

Who it’s for: People who love pop culture and seek a more creative way to heal.

Telehealth allows you the flexibility to heal from your own space, on your schedule.

About Therapy Modalities

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy is a highly effective, evidence-based approach designed to provide anxiety support and help individuals heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. It utilizes bilateral stimulation — often through eye movements — to assist the brain in processing and integrating traumatic memories that have become “stuck.” Instead of reliving the pain, EMDR allows clients to gently revisit these memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity. This method is particularly beneficial for those living with PTSD and complex PTSD, as it aids in reprocessing trauma without requiring extensive verbal detail, making healing feel safer and more accessible. Additionally, EMDR therapy can complement Cognitive Processing Therapy, enhancing overall therapeutic outcomes.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

ACT is a mindfulness-based approach that provides valuable anxiety support, helping individuals create a life aligned with their values, even amid pain or difficult emotions. Instead of attempting to eliminate trauma-related thoughts and feelings, ACT teaches skills to accept them, reduce their impact, and take committed action toward meaningful goals. This approach is particularly effective for those dealing with complex PTSD, where avoidance and emotional numbing often become survival strategies. In addition to ACT, techniques like Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR therapy can complement this journey. With ACT, clients learn to reconnect with their inner strength, step out of struggle, and move forward with purpose and resilience.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a structured, evidence-based treatment that provides effective anxiety support by helping individuals identify and shift unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. It is particularly beneficial for those dealing with PTSD and complex PTSD, as trauma often disrupts our perceptions of ourselves, others, and the world. Through CPT, clients learn to recognize distorted thoughts—such as blame, guilt, or shame—and replace them with more balanced, empowering perspectives. This transformative process not only aids in recovery but also complements other therapeutic approaches, such as EMDR therapy, allowing individuals to gain clarity, reclaim their stories, and build a stronger, more compassionate relationship with themselves.

Self-Compassion

Self- Empowerment

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

Self-compassion is the practice of treating ourselves with the same kindness, care, and understanding we would offer a loved one — especially in moments of suffering. For individuals recovering from PTSD and complex PTSD, self-compassion can be profoundly healing and serve as a vital form of anxiety support. Trauma often leaves behind harsh inner criticism, shame, and a deep sense of isolation. By cultivating self-compassion, clients learn to soothe their inner world, foster emotional safety, and rebuild a sense of worthiness. It’s not just a mindset — it’s a powerful therapeutic tool that supports every stage of the healing journey, whether through Cognitive Processing Therapy or EMDR therapy.

Self- Empowerment

Self- Empowerment

At the Trauma and PTSD Healing Center, our self-empowerment skills are designed to help individuals reclaim their inner strength and rebuild a sense of control in their lives. Grounded in trauma-informed care, our therapy sessions, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR therapy, focus on cultivating resilience, self-trust, boundary-setting, assertiveness, and personal agency.

Whether you’re navigating the aftermath of trauma or seeking anxiety support to break free from limiting beliefs, we provide compassionate support and practical tools to help you rediscover your voice, reconnect with your purpose, and create a life rooted in empowerment and possibility.

Superhero Therapy

Self- Empowerment

Self- Empowerment

Superhero Therapy is a technique I developed that utilizes stories, characters, and themes from pop culture to provide anxiety support and help individuals understand and heal from trauma. Many of us resonate deeply with superheroes because their journeys reflect our own experiences, such as confronting fears, overcoming adversity, and discovering inner strength. In therapy, we leverage these characters as tools to explore your experiences, build coping skills, and make sense of challenging emotions in a manner that feels safe, creative, and empowering. By linking your story with the narratives that inspire you, Superhero Therapy can enhance trauma work, making it more accessible, meaningful, and even transformative. Additionally, this approach can complement methods like Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR therapy to further support your healing journey.
